This is a Beaufort County Public Boat Ramp that has access to Johnson Creek. Its only for small watercraft. This is a quick stop on the way to the beach. If there is no wind you will need bug spray. You will be looking for a large cache that has a log book, pen and plenty of SWAG. There is lots of parking and the cache is on dry land a far away from traffic. You will get a nice view of the newly constructed bridge. Have fun and say hello to the fishermen. Wading the machete flats is dirt cheap. All you need is some sort of pack and a pair of flats boots. You can have both for less than $200, easy. Buy a kayak, canoe, paddleboard or a Jon boat, and any of these will set you back a grand or two. Do the math. Wading is ideal for the do-it-yourself angler. For newbies just starting out, there may be no better way to go. This area is know for its fishing the flats for Redfish on King Tides. Congrats to RATLVR on FTF!
