While traveling US Hwy 56 east of Council Grove, KS, came upon this metal sculpture on the hill. In fact, have passed this location many times in the past, and today decided to place a cache here in conjunction with my previous "Sculpture on the Hill" cache hide south of Council Grove. US Hwy 56 roughly follows the route of the Santa Fe Trail from the Kansas City, MO area all the way to Santa Fe, NM, going through the states of MO/KS/OK/CO/NM.
Sculpture depicts 3 Native American warriors on horse back. You CANNOT get to the sculpture because it is on private property and would have to cross a fence line. However, where the cache is located, you can see them off in the distance roughly 1/4 mile or so.
Anyway, in order to get to this location, travel east/west on US Hwy 56/Santa Fe Trail between the towns of Council Grove/Allen, KS. At the intersection with Road A, turn south and immediately turn west into the open area where you can park safely. Cache is dangling somewhere in one of those GREEN MONSTERS!!!!
For you county-counters, the cache is located in Morris County while the sculpture is located in Lyon County.
May be an easy find for some, while others may have a little difficulty - you have been warned!!! Remember to SIGN the cache log - NO signature and your log runs the risk of being deleted unannounced - you have been warned!! None of this "I cannot get them log out" BS!!
