Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near the gravesites of two soldiers from the War of 1812: Elijah Sackett and an unknown soldier. They both died on their way from Plattsburgh to Sackets Harbor. I could not find any concrete relation between Elijah and Augustus Sackett, the founder of Sackets Harbor.

The puzzle is super easy and really only serves the purpose of going to see the gravesites since the cache is not located directly near them, but it is nearby. The cache itself will be a bit harder once you have the coordinates. All of the information to obtain the coordinates is located on this property, but not all from the gravesite.

The coordinates are:

N 44 33.9AB

W 074 59.1BC

A = The historic sign post was erected in 19A4

B= The year Elijah and the unknown soldier died was 181B

C = The last digit of Elijah's birth year minus the day in April the unknown soldier died

Once you find the cache, you might need tweezers or a tool to get out the log. It is probably preferable that you leave the container in place and only remove the log. Please make sure it is just as hidden for the next people.
