This cache is placed on Alex's Trail, as it enters the DuMont Meadow, managed by Stowe Land Trust. It is an easy walk of about 0.4 miles each way. You may choose to bring your bike, as it is an easy trail for mountain bikes too. It was built by the Stowe Mountain Bike club and named on honor of Alex Roberts.
For the past few years, Stowe Land Trust has been managing the meadow, preserving habitat for wildlife. Near this cache is an informative sign describing the work, and a bench which looks out onto the meadow. Note the little gnome home at the base of the tree near the bench. At the time I hid this cache, the meadow was full of songbirds. The trail continues for a short loop around the meadow before returning to the area near the cache.
The container is a small cylinder, definitely winter friendly.
