This is a large size cedar birdhouse style TB Hotel that is available 24/7, and is all-season weatherproof. It has a Masterlock cryptex-style lock for entry security to help keep those traveling items safe. There is a nice parking area a short distance away to the cache.
Welcome to the TB Hotel & Spa located at the busy travel intersection of US127 and the Higgins Lake area. This is a perfect location for TB's to have a short layover to rest & relax while traveling through 'Up North' Michigan before heading back out on the road to destinations unknown.
There was a previous TB hotel near here, but it had been taken out of service. Inspired by this location and since I have another very popular and TB-Hotel (the "US127 / I-75 4-Mile Road exit TB Hotel & Spa") that has been busy with geocaching travelers over the last several years, I've made this hotel very similar with the hope that it will last a long time.
This hotel is made of white cedar & the exterior has been spar urethane clear-coated and assembled from a flat-kit 'screech owl' type box. It features several hanging hooks inside and is roomy enough to handle even large TB hitch-hikers. There is a separate inside shelf compartment for the logbook. The entry door is security locked (hint) to help prevent muggle kidnappings, and has a unique closure for all-weather protection. The logbook is a nice weather-proof nylon covered write-in-the-rain 4x6 notebook & attached all-weather pen for your logging (and reading others logs!) pleasure.
I've made this special hotel available to all geocachers, not just paid premium members as long as rules are being followed.
RULES!:
(1) In the interest of always having TB items present in this cache, please observe fair trading guidelines. If there are 3 TB's or less present in the cache, please "leave one, take one" only!
(2) Please do not take the write-in-the-rain logbook, paper, or pen from the hotel. Put it back into it's place when you are done writing or reading the logs & stories.
(3) Close the hotel door securely, re-lock, and scramble the numbers before you leave to keep the visiting TB travelers safe!
(4) Make sure you promtly and properly digitally log the TB visitors you are trading, picking up, or dropping off. Of course, you can also log the TB visitors you may discover staying here as well. This keeps the reported TB's listed here accurate to fellow geocachers (nothing worse than visiting a TB-Hotel that is supposed to have a lot of TB's only to find it empty!).
