Superman was born on the planet Krypton, and his birth name was Kal-El. When he was a baby, he was sent to Earth by spaceship just in time before Krypton was destroyed. After landing, he was discovered by farmers in their field, and so they adopted him and named him Clark Kent. Â
Superman possesses superhuman abilities, superhuman strengths, and impenetrable skin, and is often referred to as the "man of steel".
His arch nemesis is Lex Luthor
His weakness is green kryptonite. It severely weakens him, and prolonged exposure to it will kill him.
Superman is a DC Comics character, and made his first appearance in Action Comics issue #1 in 1938, though he was first conceived in a published short story written by Superman creator Jerry Siegel in 1933.
