Geocache Description:

Do not look at the listed coordinates, as the cache is not there.

Most Pittsburghers are familiar with Kennywood, which has been the city's go-to amusement park since 1899. However, many younger citizens (such as myself!) are not aware that there was another large amusement park in the area that closed more than 40 years ago. West View Park, located on this spot, was opened at the turn of the 1900s, but as it reached the 1970s, its secluded location, combined with rising competition from nearby expanding parks like Kennywood, Geauga Lake, and Cedar Point, led to its closure. Today, the only sign that the park once stood here is the carousel horse atop the West View Park Shopping Center sign, which is not authentic and is instead a replica. My hope is that this cache will bring awareness to West View Park to those who have never heard about it while allowing those who know about the park to learn some fun facts about it.

The cache is a medium-sized Tupperware container, decorated with pictures of the amusement park. Figure out the answers below, then use them to plug in the proper numbers to the cache location. Finding the answers to these questions is not difficult and can be accomplished with a look at the park's Wikipedia page. GZ is in a high traffic location, so be cautious when retrieving the container. Please leave the pictures inside for other finders to look at. Good luck!

I chose this location because it is near a tunnel that once ran under Center Avenue for access to the park. The stones in the area could possibly be left over from those days.

The final cache location is at N 40° 31.ABC W 080° D.EFG

For those interested in learning more about the park's history, this promotional video should prove insightful. (No answers here, just for fun!)
