The name "Heaton Village", or "Heaton on the Hill" first appears in the history books in the 12th Century.
By the 18th century the village consited of a the large Heaton Hall (now the site of St Bedes School), a few farms & cottages, and was surrounded by agricultural land.
Now just a suburb of the City of Bradford, but still refered to by locals as a Heaton "Village".
