The National Cycle Route 4 is a long-distance route from London to Fishguard in West Wales. It crosses the old Severn Bridge and winds its way through the back roads of South Wales sections of Route 4 follow the Celtic Trail East including running along this lane parallel to the main A48.
This cache is best approached on foot (or bike!) as the lane is narrow and there is no lay-by or pull-in close to the cache. There is roadside parking on the road into Mathern or the nearby Garden Centre affords safe parking.
The farm along this lane is known locally as ‘The Ostrich Farm’ … for reasons which will become obvious as you walk up the lane and peer over the hedges towards the garden centre and old Severn Bridge!
There are several walking routes here between Pwllmeyric, Mounton, Mathern and St. Pierre’s Great Woods. Here they cross the Celtic Trail. So pick the right one to discover the cache.
