The National Cycle Route 4 is a long-distance route from London to Fishguard in West Wales. It crosses the old Severn Bridge and winds its way through the back roads of South Wales sections of Route 4 follow the Celtic Trail East including running along this lane towards Hayesgate. The junction here affords views along the valley to the west and to the old Severn Bridge to the south east. To the west the road runs parallel to the M48 motorway and follows the line of an old roman road running to the Roman fort at Caerwent. Which way should you go?
