The Nyack Brook's course remains mostly hidden from view, and runs along Main, Franklin, and Hudson St, under the village's downtown, emerging again at Memorial Park, and into the mighty Hudson. While we only hear whispers of its babbling waters, it has played a major role in shaping the village. Native Americans used to frequent the brook's drinkable waters. Developers, later changed the water's flows to power their mills creating floods that plague downtown Nyack to this day. In the mid-1800's, the brook was used to guide slaves escaping along the Underground Railroad.
Pause here for a minute, and see if you can still hear the waters telling their tales.
Congratulations to Ovaron on the FTF!
