Formation du grès
Il y a environ 200 millions d'années la région de Luxembourg était envahie par une mer dans laquelle se déposait un sable apporté du continent par les fleuves. Ce sable, qui fut recouvert par d'autres couches plus jeunes se transforma au cours des temps géologiques en grès.
De nos jours, grâce à l'acton de l'érosion, le grès de Luxembourg affleure dans la partie centrale du pays.
Sandsteinbildung
Vor rund 200 Millionen Jahren war die Gegend um Luxemburg von einem Meer überflutet. Hier lagerte sich Sand ab, der vom Festland her mit den Flüssen angeschwemmt wurde.
Dieser Sand wurde von anderen, jüngeren Schichten überlagert und verfestigte sich im Laufe der Erdgeschichte zu einem Sandstein.
Nach der Abtragung der jüngeren Gesteinsschichten tritt der Luxemburger Sandstein heute im Zentrum des Landes.
Sandstone formation
Around 200 million years ago, the area around Luxembourg was flooded by a sea. Here sand was deposited, which was washed up with the rivers from the mainland.
This sand was overlaid by other, younger layers and solidified into a sandstone over the course of the earth's history.
After the removal of the younger layers of rock, the Luxembourg sandstone occurs today in the centre of the country.

Question 2: Décrivez les différences de texture (compact, friable, poreux...) et de structure (en saillie, en retrait) entre les deux types de bancs de grès.
Question 3: Estimez la hauteur en m des six premiers bancs.
Loguez „Found it“ en postant si possible une photo de votre GPS (ou de vous) avec le trou de la paroi de grès en arrière-plan dans votre log.

Frage 3: Schätzen Sie die Höhe der ersten sechs Sandsteinbänke.
Loggen Sie „Found it“ indem Sie ein Foto ihres GPS (oder von sich selbst) mit dem Loch der Sandsteinmauer im Hintergrund veöffentlichen
