Geocache Description:

08 June 2020, 08:00 - 09:00

Meeting at the corner of the parking lot of the Tractor store on Willow Creek Rd. in Prescott at 8:00. Please bring your own pen to sign my collectable logbook, wave/greet some of those geocacher friends that you haven't seen forever or come MEET new friends, and then we will divide and conquer to clean Prescott. I was taking a walk along Willow Creek Rd. from the car dealer to the Heritage Park Zoo, while my car was getting its 30,000 miles service. I couldn't help but feel sad by the amount of trash that lined up the sidewalk to the fenceline. So I noticed a nice big parking lot at the Tractor Supply Co. and asked if we could please hold an event to clean up and even use their trash bin in the back of the store. I noticed that wind has blown trash towards the lake as well. There are loads of caches in Prescott to enjoy in the area before/after the CITO event. Some fun ideas after the event: If you have a kayak, bring it with you and enjoy Willow Lake (in view from the CITO) or Watson Lake (lots of D/T options). If you love zoos, you can go there for a visit. I can't think of a better type of an event, a CITO where we can still "social distance" and yet say hi again!

I noticed this on other event write-ups, so I will consider this to be appropriate and respectful to put on the cache page:

If you are not comfortable or if you are sick – please stay home.

I strongly suggest that we wear a mask or face cover if you have one and try to stay at least 6 feet away from each other (thinking of more when we gather at the start because naturally we will be 6 feet apart during the trash removal!)

I am trying to pick varying days of the week for the CITO events as some working friends have differing days off, this one will be a Monday morning. My heart aches at all the trash that is everywhere, I have wanted to see if we can do our part as geocachers to help beautify our "playground" and continue this effort. There is a TB hotel at GCTEXT nearby the event if you'd like to trade trackables. (We won't be trading TBs at this event.)

What to bring if you have:

Gloves that you wash or dispose of. Grabbers to help pick up trash. If you have large bags, great as that will conserve the ones I have for the amount of CITO events I hope to host this summer! Water/sunscreen/hat/bright vest (so we look "official").

An additional bonus: I believe this event will qualify you for the seasonal CITO souvenir. Hope to see you!
