Geocache Description:

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD TO THIS SERIES, PLEASE CONTACT THE SERIES OWNER (SEE BELOW)
We are often told (correctly, if somewhat ideologically), that geocaches should take us to somewhere "interesting", and not simply be placed just for the sake of it. The aim of this series is to try and adhere to this ideal by basing caches around details given on an Interpretation Board about the area in which it is situated. By definition, it is hoped that this information will be "interesting", and will help the cacher discover things about the area that would often not be revealed by a traditional cache.
The starting point is an information board near at Pentrich. the board was placed to mark the 200th anniversary of the pentrich revolution. as well as information about the rising it also lists a series of themed walks and there is a map of the walk round Pentrich. to find the final cache you will need to work out the coordinates using the following information:

in the top left hand corner is an old map of Pentrich c181A. In the text on the RHS of the board "events in Pentrich" how many local men were transported? this is B. round the map detailing walk no.5 are numbered illustrations, from these pictures C = Pentrich mill, D = Butterley gatehouse and E = St Matthews church.

the cache will be found at: N53 04.(B-D-E)(B-C)((D+E) W1 24.AB(A+C)

checksum A to E = 21

The final cache will be found approx. five minutes walk away. the log must be signed to claim a find, please message us with any concerns and happy caching.

I hope that you find this an interesting variation on the caching experience. For a full list of all FYI caches in the series, please go to https://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?code=BM4RZ8H
