At 2057ft (627 metres) Killhope Cross is one of the highest paved passes in England, on the County Durham/Weardale/Cumbrian border.
The cache should be a nice and easy Drive By, with plenty of parking, and some lovely views.
Just across the road there is a weathered carved boundry marker, in the shape of a cross. The date is unknown, although its thought to be possibly medieval, and moved to its present location circa 17th/18th Century.
You do not need to cross the road to find the cache. Please be careful If you choose to cross the road to look at the 'Killhope Cross' as its a fast road on the top of a brow.
