While I was out in the west desert doing a little riding, Desert Dawg told us about a cabin he had been to a few times over the years. It is privately owned, but the owners permit other people to stay there went they aren't using it. The day we stopped by, someone had taken up residence although they weren't there when we were there. We took a bit of a tour of the cabin and it looked like a nice place to stay and get out of the weather if you ever happen to break down out this way. There are several bunk beds, a couple of wood stoves, canned food, an outhouse, and a roof over your head to keep the weather out. There are even a couple of bathtubs with water running through them just outside of the cabin. It looked like it could easily fit 15-20 people with no problem. Please be respectful, especially if anyone is staying at the cabin.
I decided to place a cache so that others can visit this treasure in the desert. The cache itself is placed a little ways away from the cabin as to hopefully not get muggled. There is a road that takes off from the Emigrant trail road to get to the cabin. High clearance 4X4, ATV, or motorcycle recommended.
