With international travel off the agenda in the current climate, here is the third challenge in my series that requires you to explore the South Island of New Zealand. For easier challenges, see
- GC8RQ15 South Island 100 Minutes Latitude challenge
- GC8RQ1B South Island 200 Minutes Latitude challenge.
The South Island's northernmost point is at S40° 29' (Cape Farewell) and southernmost is S46° 40' (Slope Point) so that is a range of over 370 minutes. If Stewart Island is included, the range is 410 minutes.
The cache is a pill bottle at the published co-ordinates, but before you can log a find, you first need to find 300 caches, each at a different minute of latitude of the South Island and Stewart Island. Please paste the output from the challenge checker (thanks the Seagnoid) below to show proof of eligibilty.
Note that according to geocaching.com guidelines, you can sign the log at any time, but you cannot claim the find until you have achieved the challenge. The date of your find should be EITHER the date you sign the log book OR the date you found the last contributing cache, whichever is the later date.
At the time of placement, I have found 359 of the 410 minutes between S47° 18' and S40° 29' and that is without finding any on Stewart Island.
