Izvir Šahovec so prebivalci vasi Škovec odkrili in začeli uporabljati po tem ko je usahnil izvir Rina. Mesto izvira je zanimivo predvsem ker voda priteče izpod skale na kateri raste drevo, ob izviru je postavljena tudi klop z mizo za počitek.
