This is a very nice little park to honor our servicemen. There’s a statue honoring Rondall H. Glaze for his service. He was awarded The Distinguished Service Cross. This is the nation’s 2nd highest honor for valor, & he’s from right here in Helen. This park was dedicated in 2018. They have each branch of the service recognized with a flag & engraving. There’s also a large, beautiful sculpture of an eagle with his wings fully spread. If you’re not looking for it you will drive right past, so if you’re at the Welcome center it’s right next door. Great park to check out while visiting in Helen.
Great to visit this beautiful park on Memorial Day, and this cache is placed in honor and memory of all that served and continue to serve our country.
