Did you know that in the original, written story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears (titled The Story of The Three Bears, by Robert Southey, 1837), the person entering the house of the bears is a nameless, mean old woman. Over the years many authors changed the story, oftentimes making it more child friendly. Eventually, in 1849, the old woman was replaced by a young girl. The young girl's name varied from Silver-hair to Silver Locks to Golden Hair, finally settling on Goldilocks in 1904.
We added a bit of coloring to the container to give it a hint of "gold" and placed it on one of the tree "bears".
