The Chicago Great Western Railroad ran through Pearl City from 1886 until 1973 when the tracks were removed. The rails were laid from 1886 to 1887. The last passenger train ran through town in 1956. The last freight train ran through town in 1972. If you look to the south of this location you can see the hump where the railroad ran northwest out of town.
