Fishtrap Lake is a beautiful gem of a quiet fishing lake in the hot, dry, channeled scablands. Bring your boat, put in at the north end of the lake, and paddle or putt down to find this cache. (Discover Pass required at parking!) We had a great day, the first real warm day of summer, doing just that. scareway and pbrjwin were nice enough to join me (LFLibrarian) on an outing with the Surly Teens, who are much less surly when paddling and hunting for turtles. We also saw bald eagles, cormorants, plenty of ducks, and swallows nesting in the cliffs.
The intention here is to find this cache by boat. An overland route might exist, but there's no need to hunt for it--you'd be missing the best part of the cache experience, the time on the water to get here!
Cache is an ammo can, placed in obvious glory under a pile of debris at the base of a nice tree. Just a short hop out of the boat, and you'll be signing in no time.
