An easy cache on Wormwood Scrubs in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
PLEASE NOTE: The area is open 24/7 but you cache at your own risk. I don't think I'd cache alone after dark here. Wormwood Scrubs Prison is on one edge of the Scrubs but the caches are not located near it. I don't think anyone has escaped for some time. No room for swaps and Bring Your Own Pen (BYOP).
Wormwood Scrubs often has a creepy feeling to it for me, especially in Winter when the fog is rolling across it. Also, I coach young athletes at nearby Thames Valley Harriers and they complain that the cross country run around the Scrubs is a "Nightmare". I've named it all after a movie you may like to enjoy in these Covid 19 times. I've provided the review below.
New cachers - the cache stays here. Don't take it home and don't move it. Please rehide it the same or better than you found it. Don't leave clues in the log.
From Wiki - Dread Central awarded the film a score of 1 out of 4, stating, "Nezulla the Rat Monster attempts to be a serious, suspenseful monster movie and fails miserably. Slow, dreary, and boring; this is a film that needed less angst, less Japanese-flavored melodramatics, and more of what makes a monster movie entertaining, even ones that set about to be more high-minded". Mike Long from DVD Talk gave the film a negative review, panning the film's story, dialogue, and design of the titular monster which he called "laughable". David Johnson from DVD Verdict panned the film, criticizing the film's plot, dialogue, and the poor design of the monster. Sounds a total winner!
Wormwood Scrubs is the largest open space in the Borough, at 80 ha (200 acres), and one of the largest areas of common in London. The southern edge of the Scrubs is the site of two locally important buildings. At the western end is HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs, built between 1875 and 1891 by convict labour. To the east of the prison is theHammersmith Hospital campus, which includes the relocated Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital. Within the area, there are several sports facilities, including the Linford Christie Stadium, home to Thames Valley Athletics, lots of football pitches and a pony centre.
Paid parking can be found behind the hospital near the Linford Christie Sadium. It is accessed off Du Cane Road by turning onto Artillery Lane and following it around.
