PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CACHE HAS BEEN MOVED DUE TO MUGGLING, THE BRIDGE RENOVATION, AND THE BOX GETTING WASHED AWAY/DISAPPEARING. THE TROLLS HAVE MOVED INTO THE TREES NEARBY AND TRIED TO TAKE THE CACHE WITH THEM!
Cars&Trains had a cache here from 2012 but after being muggled it was archived in 2015. I think it is time to place another in the area :)
Do spend some time looking at the toy wall, the stone church up on Bridger Lane, and the Pou at the entrance off Bridge Street.
From the visit Taranaki website: "Bridger Park, named after Ira Bridger, Eltham Mayor from 1923 to 1938, is a pleasant valley park that straddles the Manawharawhara Stream. Originally a wasteland of blackberry and tangled willows, it was transformed into an attractive park as a project devised by Mr Bridger to provide work for the unemployed during the depression. With predominantly native planting, the park is especially attractive when the kowhai are in bloom in early spring."
You are looking for a small pill bottle. BYOP. Because GPS can get a bit iffy under trees - head into the trees when you see the metal box by the stairs. Please replace it carefully. This has been replaced 25/09/21 and again (and moved) on 28/12/21.
On 09/12/21 a Pou was placed near the entrance to the park off Bridge Street. More information about it is here: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/stratford-press/news/pou-unveiled-at-bridger-park-entrance-in-eltham/7OMVQCC6WKKKOSUXROY5X2DKXY/
