This cache is placed in memorial honor of our loving Chihuahua, "Henry Weenie Wayne" who passed on April 23, 2020, due to complications related to his heart and respiratory conditions. Henry was a shelter dog from Hancock County, West Virginia but moved to Adams Ridge in February 2020 where he spent the last of his dog days. Henry enjoyed walks and baking in the hot sun. He was walked everyday by his owner, Jess, until his health declined, and she would carry him in a soft bed instead. Henry will be missed dearly by all who knew him and scratched his ears.
The cache location in the grassy area of a well-known Southern Valley intersection and overlooks a lush green wooded meadow Wayne would have enjoyed. The cache owners hope to someday include a memorial plaque but may use a more typical geocaching container instead. There may be a small log so bring a pen. As always, please be careful as cars do travel through the neighborhood.
Although not required, Cachers are encouraged to bring your dogs or beloved pets (on a leash, of course...) to the cache location, take their picture, and share their story as part of the log. We would like to share your love for your pets.
There are lots of dog owners on this block. Feel free to join us, share a treat, and say hello! Of course, also remember to clean up after your pet!
Enjoy the cache!
