The waikato is not known for chemical manufacture, but this little plant, hiding in the back country of Morrinsville manufactures hydrogen peroxide. I visited here in 1995 as part of my uni course into Industrial Chemistry. Now, as a chemistry teacher, I use hydrogen peroxide regularly for teaching and really cool demos
It is most well known for the demo "Elephant Toothpaste" which is very prevalent on Youtube. This is a favourite with students.
