Geocache Description:

The series:

Recent events have restricted me and everyone else to a radius of 5km for exercise. This series consists of 19 traditional caches, each one exactly 5 kilometres from my home.

The caches are all 35mm film containers, covered in black insulation tape and suspended by a wire. More specific hints and sometimes a photo, are published with each cache.

Although the circle radius is only 5km, that makes the circumference 31.42km, so even if you could walk directly between caches, I wouldn't recommend you try it in one day!

As there are very few hiking trails around here, I've placed each cache by the side of a road accessible by car, with the exception of #17 and #19, which are down a rough track. If you're doing this series by car, I recommend that you start at cache #15, then #16 to #19, then from #1 to finish at cache #14.

If you're on a bike but need to start and end at the same place, then you should take the caches in sequence starting at #1. Be warned that there is a 14km gap between caches #14 and #15, as there is no place to cross the river.

There is a shop in Ballymoe near cache #1, but the only other point for refreshments or supplies en route is the shop in Glinsk, between caches #17 and #18.
