Geocache Description:

 The Beeac/Ondit/Cundare Cemetery

In August 1864 the Ondit Farmers and Tradesmen's Association held a meeting, and it decided that an application should be made to the government for a site for a cemetery.  A sub committee was elected to find the most suitable site.  Eight acres north of Beeac was chosen, near Lake Cundare.

By 1869 the cemetery had been gazetted.  In 1871 Mr Bunce who was the curator of the Geelong Botanic Gardens, supplied a large assorted collection of trees and shrubs to the cemetery.

In 1889 the cemetery was surveyed into its denominations and pine trees planted around the grounds, and in 1892 all of the graves had been numbered.

The Colac Otway Shire took over the management of the cemetery in 1985.  It was then transferred to the Geelong Cemetery Trust’s care in 2014.

So whats its name??  When it was first gazetted in 1869 it was known as the Ondit Cemetery.  Then somewhere along the way it was called the Ondit/Cundare Cemetery.  Ondit is the parish it was in, and Cundare is really the area where the Cemetery is located...however it is now known as the Beeac Cemetery, named after the town not far from here.

You are looking for a 200ml sistema container.
