Geocache Description:

Hale Village War Memorial

Floriated Latin cross on circular column and two stepped base. Wreath on front face at top. An additional memorial stone was unveiled beside the cross in 2004 with 11 names which were not on the original memorial.
On the south face of the memorial Second Lieutenant William Barnard Duckett is remembered. He served in the 300th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery and was awarded the Military Cross. He died on 27th March 1918 and was buried in Pozieres Cemetery in the Somme, France.
On the west face on the bottom base of the memorial, Serjeant John Hughes is remembered. He served in the 2nd Batallion of the South Lancashire Regiment and was awarded the Military Medal. He died aged 27 on the 27th May 1918 and was buried at Cologne Southern Cemetery in Germany.
These are just two examples of the sacrifice laid down for our tomorrows. We shall always remember them.

To find the cache you will need to look at one of the wheels on the cannon (left or right - they are both the same!) and the forward shield of the cannon.

N53 19.(Inner Hex Bolts)(Square Bolts x 2)(Wheel Handles x 2)
W002 48.(Bullet Impressions)(Outer Hex Bolts ÷ Square Bolts)(Inner Hex Bolts - Wheel Handles)

Inner Hex Bolts + Outer Hex Bolts + Square Bolts + Bullet Impressions + Wheel Handles = 33
