This cache is to showcase the CCC Worker Statue. This statue is number 2 in the nation for commemorative statues for the Civilian Conservation Corps (also reffered to as the CCC or C's). This CCC Worker Statue was first dedicated at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis in April 14, 1996. Due to lack of staffing and funding, the Civilian Conservation Corps exhibit closed down. Through private and organizational help, the statue was donated to the Missouri State Parks system. Number 2 was rededicated at Babler State Park on Oct. 13, 2018. This cache also represents the amount of work done to create Babler State Park in moving large amounts of rock to create the stone buildings and structures. The small shack next to the CCC Worker Statue was harvested fossil filled limestone that was quarried in the park. In some of the rocks you can still see the fossilized marine organisms, frozen in time. The stones that make up the base of the pedestal are also recycled rock from the CCC that were hand cut from the quarry. Stop by and visit the CCC Worker & exhibit pieces on display in the Visitor Center, during operational hours.
