Geocache Description:

This is my first placement so if there is anything I need to do to improve, please let me know

Coranderrk was an Aboriginal reserve, created by the Victorian government between 1863 and 1924, . Under the protection polices of the time, the government provided land for Aboriginal people who had been dispossessed of their traditional lands by the arrival of European settlers to the colony of Victoria since the 1830s.

The reserve was formally closed in 1924, with most residents removed to Lake tyers missing.

In March 1998, part of the Coranderrk Aboriginal Station was returned to the Wurundjeri Tribe Land Compensation and Cultural Heritage Council when the Indigenous Land Corporation purchased 0.81 km²

Coranderrk Aboriginal Station is located on the Yarra Flats, bordered by the Yarra River, Badger Creek, Watts River and the slopes of Mount Riddle .

At this location the is a small memorial for Coranderrk you can also enjoy the views looking over the dam across the road and the entrance to Healsville via the Melba Hwy.

The cache is easy to find, please cover it back up as it will be easy to spot by muggles. Enjoy!
