This is a pretty decent hike along the Red Wing Nature Trail. Trail Head coordinates are listed below. The trail is just over three quarters of a mile one way with an elevation change of about 500 feet.
There are two other trail heads to access this cache which are shorter, but steeper hikes. Both are on Rt. 82. Park at the park gates and walk from there. For a more scenic hike, park at the firehouse. The firehouse has confirmed that parking here for hiking is fine but park in the most inaccessible spots and by no means ever block the fire truck bays. The trail head is directly across the street (if perhaps a little further north) from the parking lot.
This cache replaces the original Towering Vista cache we had up here, but decided to archive because of issues with it and to move it further away from the overlook. The overlook (and trails) have really been expanded since hiding the original cache here.
Please note that the land owners have no problem with geocaching and permission has been granted, however, they ask that you please adhere to the posted signs - no off-road vehicles. Also, as you should always do anyway, please bring a small bag with you to CITO any trash you may find along the way.
