I was fortunate enough to be awarded one of the Community Celebration Events to host last year for Groundspeak’s 20th Anniversary. But we all know what has happened this past year or so to change our normal way of having fun!
So, I thought I would take advantage of the improving conditions to use this event before it gets too hot AND to also celebrate Ahern Clan’s 10th Anniversary date of caching by holding this special event! I remember our first day we were introduced to geocaching. It was on this date ten years ago my truck club friends introduced us to our first geocaching experience. Since then, it has been ten years of thrills, exploring places I never would have gone to and of course meeting some of the finest people in this sport we call Geocaching!
Come meet and greet fellow cachers, tell stories and plan your next big adventure. Whether it’s exchanging or discovering travel bugs, trading secrets to finding a difficult cache or plotting a geo-road trip – here’s your chance to mingle and be merry!
Event will be located at Windmill Park in Cornville. Ramadas are first come/first serve only, so you may want to bring your own chairs. There's no saying how crowded it will be on a Saturday and how that will affect parking, so that is why the meet is spread out over 2 hours for those that want to come and go. Carpooling might not be a bad option in case other events or groups are present. There are already 2 caches in this park so you can grab them if you haven't already.
Of course, we are not out of the woods with issues related to Covid-19. So, if you are not feeling well, please make the responsible choice and refrain from attending. If you have concerns, practice social distancing per state guidelines. As of the time this event was published, Arizona lifted all limits on group restrictions but as always, that is subject to change so check the following link for updates: https://azgovernor.gov/executive-orders .
Each person is responsible for providing their own supplies for their own safety. Signing the log book will be optional, BYOP like all good cachers should!
