On January 1852, for the sum of $25.00, 2 acer parcel of land was deeded from Ira and Mary Colby to the County of McHenry for the purpose of Burials. The Woodland Cemetery Assc. of McHenry was encorporated on Nov.1911. In 1969, for the sum of $10.00. Jacob and Rose Freund deeded another parcel of property of land to Woodland cemetery. This the second cache we put in this cemetery, the first keeped going missing.
