The Mutineers have been defeated and the gold has been transported to the Hispaniola and after three days it is all loaded on board.
As captain Smollett and his remaining men make preparations to embark they discover three drunken mutineers who kneel and beg to be taken on board.
Captain Smollett fears that they would cause troble on board and so maroons them on the island with a small amount of provisions.
The ships provisions are running very low and so they set sail for a port in Spanish America to take on supplies and some extra crew for the return voyage back to there home port in Bristol.
