Geocache Description:


Gyngemosen is a large wetland area, neighbouirng with the nearby Høje Gladsaxe park and Utterslev Mose semi-natural areas. The park hosts the urban environmental Byøkologisk Center that aims at educating people of all ages on how to be sustainable in their actions while being in nature or using natural resources.

According to the so called Fingerplan (a famous urbanization plan from 1947), Gyngemosen was to be kept a green area as the vegetation and animal life there were of interest. In the 1960's however large parts of it were drained and converted into building land, making space for iconic TV-Byen, or TV-town, where the Danish National television DR had its headquarters and studios until 2007.
