Geocache Description:


西国三十三所第2番札所である紀三井寺は、西暦770年に創建された古いお寺です。
楼門から本堂へ向かう石段は231段あり、結縁坂とも呼ばれています。
本堂前には和歌山地方気象台のソメイヨシノの標本木もあります。
キャッシュはお寺から少し離れた場所に設置してあります。

Kimiidera Temple, the 2nd of the 33 sacred places in the western part of Japan, is an old temple built in 770 AD.
There are 231 stone steps from the entrance gate to the main hall, which is also known as "Kechien-zaka" (meaning "marriage slope").
There is also a specimen tree of Someiyoshino from the Wakayama Local Meteorological Observatory in front of the main hall.
The cache is located a short distance from the temple.
