Hagiyama Station was opened in 1928, not at the present location, but closer to Kokubunji than the present location.
It is now near the Seibu Railway building.
When it opened, Hagiyama station was the last stop, but two years later, the line to Moto-Kodaira and the line to Murayama Reservoir (Tama Lake) were opened. When the railroad tracks were opened, they were shaped like a triangle.
The map (Fig. 1 , 1930) and the view from the site (Fig. 2) show the remnants of this triangular shape.

This cache was placed on the south side of that old Hagiyama station, near the traffic light, now called Hagiyama Park front.
It is micro size container.

萩山駅は、開業（1928年）当時は現在の場所ではなく、現在地よりも国分寺寄りに開設されました。
現在は、西武鉄道の萩山保線区の建物付近です。
開業当時は萩山駅が終点でしたが、その2年後元小平への路線と、村山貯水池（多摩湖）への線路が開通したことで線路が三角形の形になりました。
当時の地図(Fig1 , 1930年）と現地から見た景色(Fig.2)でその名残を確認してください。
このキャッシュは、その旧萩山駅の南側の現在では萩山公園前という信号付近に設置しました。
