Geocache Description:

The Bald Eagle Valley Trail (BEVT) will be an 11.5-mile-long stone gravel/paved walking/hiking/biking trail when completed.  The trail will ultimately run from Castanea to the Jersey Shore Trailhead of the Pine Creek Rail Trail.  BEVT is named for the ridge-and-valley Appalachian Mountain area through which the trail passes.  The Bald Eagle Valley Trail is a project of Clinton County Government, with partners in Castanea, Wayne, and Pine Creek Townships, the Clinton County Solid Waste Authority, and the Clinton County Visitors Bureau.

These caches will be located on the Castanea section (Phase 2), which is 3.4 miles long.  This segment of the trail is located between Castanea and McElhattan. These caches are not meant to be difficult.  Purpose of placing the caches is for persons of all ages to get outdoors on a great trail, have some fun, and make memories while geocaching.

The start for the Castanea section of the trail is located at the Castanea Rail Road Station, which presently houses the Clinton Central Model Railroad Club and their layout of model trains and railroad memorabilia. Visit their website at www.ccmrr.org There is also a 1941 restored train caboose that now serves as an AirBNB.  For more information regarding this unique opportunity to spend the night in a caboose, please click here: CABOOSE Physical address is 15 Logan Avenue, Lock Haven, PA

Parking is currently available near the trailhead at the Clinton Central Model Railroad Club and along Caroline Alley. Eventually there will be seven acessible parking lots at miles 0, .30, 3.80, 4.33, 5.96, 7.92, and 11.5 (West to East). For more details on the projected phases of development click here or  Clinton Central Model Railroad Club
