Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates will bring you to the start of your journey. From there, you will follow a series of reflective firetacks to find your way to the cache. This is a night cache, meant to be done at night, so be sure to bring a good flashlight and sense of adventure!

It begins close by to another nearby night cache (GC8THTH "Game of Thorns: A Letterbox Night Cache"), where both sets of firetacks run together for a brief time during the first two tenths of a mile; ORANGE tacks for THIS CACHE, and white for the other.  They will go their separate ways upon reaching the first intersection. So to be clear - please continue following the ORANGE tacks for this cache (FYI however... this cache will be extremely difficult to do during the daytime - the tacks start out a highly visible orange for those getting started at dusk but switch to brown mid-way through - reflecting the same as the orange - that blend into the trees exceptionally well in daylight. In darkness you will notice no difference, continue looking for orange.)

NOTE - If you decide to do both night caches in one evening, I recommend doing Game of Thorns FIRST as I have added orange tacks to the end of that one, leading you to re-joining a later section of this one (this would also eliminate the above-mentioned unusual start). More on that in a mo.

Terrain:

For the majority of your journey you will remain on the wide open and well-manicured traill right up until the end, where a bit of bushwhacking will then be involved to reach the final location.

General Directions & other important info:

The start may seem a bit unusual as you may find both the first firetack as well as a physical container with directions (if needed) at posted coords, to ensure you understand the proper direction in which to proceed in as it may seem counter-intuitive.

The firetacks start out around 8-10 feet up and not always visible from one to the next, eventually becoming more irregular due to limited available placement options, so be sure to keep an eye out at varying heights if you feel you may have missed something.

One tack means continue forward on the obvious path. Two diagonally-placed tacks indicates a turn is necessary, with the top one leaning towards the direction in which to do so. Three tacks means you have reached the vicinity of the final, which can be found within 15 feet.

NOTE – If one of the reflective markers looks a little bit different than the others, perhaps it’s a bonus cache placed along the way as a fun bonus! In heavier foliage-y times of the year it may be easily missed, so try and keep aware of needing to look for it as you go.

Upon leaving the final, you should see white tacks to help guide you back to the main trail. From there I would continue in the direction from which you came from (meaning turn right onto the trail) to get you back to your vehicle in the most efficient fashion. Please be aware though - there will no longer be any firetacks to guide you once returned to the main trail.

Conclusionary comments:

If you do both night caches together, in the order recommended, it entails approx. 1.63 miles through the Southern Meadow, round trip. If just doing this one alone, it'll be roughly 1.35 miles (and 1.21 miles for Game of Thorns).

No room for trackables or trade items in this cache.
