Funny story...now...when one of my sons first got his license, he was on his way to school one morning and hit a wild turkey in the curve leading to this bridge. Then, the next morning, it happened again in the same spot. T wo mornings in a row! I had never seen a turkey roaming in the wild and yet this kid found one with his car on two consecutive days! Beware...
Also, up until a few years ago, this was a narrow bridge...not quite one lane, but pretty narrow. Although it was tiny, it was vital to reaching the town of Ramseur from the Grantville Lane area. During this same son's senior year in high school, they tore this bridge out to replace it, which virtually doubled his commute to school. It was a long six months! Oh, the things we take for granted!
