Geocache Description:

Cache #369.

This cache celebrates the Mosaic Trail in Myrtleford.

The starting coordinates are at the Fish Wall at the beginning of the trail. This is definitely worth a visit but is not where you will find the cache. There is parking available nearby.

For this one bring your bicycles, or bring your walking shoes, but most importantly bring your hunting qualities and your eyes............

In October 2019, I was doing a maintenance ride around Myrtleford and noticed some cute little mosaics hiding along one of the walking trails.

I discovered later that two local ladies calling themselves The Crackpots had started to put these little treasures out under cover of darkness for people to discover.  At the time they felt a little like vandals.

Regulars along the walking path began stopping each other to point out the mosaics, so The Crackpots made a couple more, and before long the mosaic mystery was drawing children and adults alike out from their houses and onto the trail.

The town was on the hunt for the mosaics, and the culprits.  Presently there are 60 or so mosaics and apparently there are plans to expand further, away from the trails and into the town.

Here is a word puzzle listing some of the many mosaics you can find in Myrtleford.

I am adding a Treasure Hunt Chart here so you can print it out if you wish - Mosaic Treasure Hunt Chart. Children might enjoy finding them and ticking them off as they go.
