This airport is located on the eastern outskirt of Jamestown. The airstrip was sealed in 2009, and is the perfect way to fly into the Lower Flinders Ranges. An Airshow/Air Spectacular is held here every 3 years, with around 100 aircraft attending from all over Australia. The next Air Spectacular is scheduled for 2021. This airstrip is also regularly used by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
This airport is named after Sir Hubert Wilkins, one of our greatest adventurers. Raised at Mt Bryan, the highway between Jamestown and Hallett was named the "Wilkins Highway" in his honor. You can read more about this remarkable man at the airport.
