NOTE: This is a puzzle cache. The cache is not located at the posted coordinates. You would get very wet at that location. Instead, it is hidden elsewhere. This hide is intended to be more difficult than most, but should be worth it.
Clinton Lake was built for the purposes of flood control, water supply, and recreation. It was authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1962. Per the US Army Corp of Engineers, Clinton Lake provides flood protection for 156 square miles of the Wakarusa River valley downstream from the dam while draining 367 sq mi of land above the dam. Clinton Lake also supplies up to 10 million gallons of water daily. Clinton Lake provides recreational opportunities such as swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, biking, hiking, and, of course, geocaching.
The short hike to the final from parking should be scenic and it should bring you almost to a very cool spot which you'll hear as you approach. Be sure to bring your own pen as there is just barely room for the log.
