Whether you are on your way down from Brant Fell and Post Knot or on your way up, you are following an old route from the Hydro Hotel , once used by those taking the waters. There are plenty of stone benches for resting and conversation along the way. It was also designed to take the carriages of the more seriously ill. (Thanks to the National Trust for this snippet)
Unfortunately, the trees have grown considerably since Victorian times and the view is obscured in many places.
The trees mean your GPS might be all over the place but if you take a rest, you are probably looking at it. It’s a click lock box covered in black tape.
