Une superbe promenade avec comme point de départ le parc Mauresque surplombant la ville, et comme point final l'observatoire Sainte Cécile.
Et si vous souhaitez faire toute la série, des indices pourront être récupérés dans différentes caches, afin de trouver une GEOCACHE BONUS cachées non loin du point d'arrivée !

Today we propose you to discover the history of the winter townquarter of Arcachon and its awesome houses (over 80 !) with a nice trail of 17 geocaches hidden.
No need to solve impossible riddles here, no need special tools... this adventure is for the whole family !
A nice adventure with the Mauresque parc as starting point, and an amazing viewpoint of Arcachon at the end.
If you decide to complete the serie, some hints can be found in several geocaches, allowing you to find the BONUS GEOCACHE at the end of the trail !

"LE PARC MAURESQUE"
Créé sous le Second Empire par la Cie des chemins de fer du Midi sur 4 hectares de pins et de sable ce magnifique parc est cédé en 1879 à la commune d'Arcachon.
Il tient son nom du casino qu'il habritait, d'inspiration hispano-mauresque ouvert en 1863 jusqu'en 1977 ou il fut détruit par un incendie.
On y accedait alors par un funiculaire créé en 1913, ou par les raidillions toujours existants.
Created under the Second Empire by the Cie des chemin de fer du Midi on 4 hectares of pine trees and sand, this magnificent park was ceded in 1879 to the town of Arcachon.
It takes its name from the casino it housed, of Hispano-Moorish inspiration, opened in 1863 until 1977 when it was destroyed by fire.
It was then accessed by a funicular created in 1913, or by the still existing raidillions.
Le funiculaire fut ensuite remplacé en 1948 par l'ascenceur toujours existant.

Le parc Mauresque entourant le casino etait un lieu de promenade prisé et apprécié.
On y venait pour discuter, se promener en famille, mais egalement pour se montrer. C'était un endroit chic ou l'on s'habillait en conséquence.
The Moorish park surrounding the casino was a popular and popular place to walk.
We came there to discuss, take a walk with the family, but also to show off. It was a chic place where we dressed accordingly.
De nombreuses animations et spectacles y etaient proposés, notamment durant l'été.
Many activities and shows were offered there, especially during the summer.
Aux beaux jours, un kiosque à musique se transformait en salle de spectacle fermée et payante, comme le suggère cette longue file d'attente.
In fine weather, a bandstand was transformed into a closed and paying performance hall, as suggested by this long queue.
Le parc Mauresque est depuis 1992 devenu un arboretum. Prenez le temps de vous promener dans les allées de ce magnifique parc, et d'y découvrir les différentes essences plantées...
