Geocache Description:

This is the third cache in a series of park and grabs placed in tribute to the Nyack Volunteer Fire Department -- celebrating over 150 years of "Neighbors Helping Neighbors." Each cache will be hidden within view of the fire department we are honoring, but you must solve the puzzle to obtain the final coordinates.

Rockland is the last county in NYS to have a 100% volunteer fire department, and Nyack is the oldest department in the county, with 8 different fire companies.  Jackson Hose Co. No. 3 was organized September 10, 1880, and was originally housed in the Bell Tower on Jackson Ave.  Currently, they are quartered at Catherine Street, and are better known as the "Home of the Green Hornet"

While you are here, check out the many shops and restaurants on Main Street and Broadway.  On Thursday mornings, you will find a Farmer's Market nearby, and Street Fairs on many weekends from spring to fall.
