Il Bosco di San Biagio, chiamato anche il Filetto è quanto rimane di una riserva di caccia dei duchi Caetani che si estendeva lungo la vasta area oggi compresa fra via Tivera, il quartiere San Valentino e la località Torrecchia.
Nell'ottobre del 1589 vi fu organizzata una sontuosa battuta di caccia in onore di Papa Sisto V durante la quale, Onorato Caetani, fece sgorgare il vino dalle querce come fossero fontane.
Il bosco al suo interno e conserva diverse rovine romane e medievali, fornaci, ponti, colonne, probabilmente appartenenti all'antica città di Tiberia scomparsa nel XII secolo ed anche una piccola grotta/cava di travertino, dove sono stati recuperati due teschi preistorici sepolti accanto al carapace di una tartaruga, databili seimila anni fa e attualmente custoditi presso il museo civico di Velletri.
Nota: Anche se si tratta di una tranquilla passeggiata nel bosco, fate attenzione agli animali che possono nascondersi nei cespugli.

The Bosco di San Biagio, also called the Filetto, is what remains of a hunting reserve of the Caetani dukes which extended along the vast area today between via Tivera, the San Valentino district and Torrecchia.
In October 1589 a sumptuous hunting trip was organized there in honor of Pope Sixtus V during which, Onorato Caetani, made the wine flow from the oaks as if they were fountains.
The wood inside and preserves several Roman and medieval ruins, furnaces, bridges, columns, probably belonging to the ancient city of Tiberia disappeared in the XII century and also a small travertine cave / quarry, where two prehistoric skulls buried next to it were recovered to the carapace of a turtle, datable six thousand years ago and currently kept in the civic museum of Velletri.
Note: Even if it is a quiet walk in the woods, beware of animals that can hide in the bushes.
