Having spent many happy hours walking through these woods during the Covid-19 lockdown it struck me that they deserved a geocache. Woodland, of course, provides plenty of possible hiding places so I plumped for a fairly straightforward mature gnarly tree adjacent to the path. However, the GPS reception round here is not all that it might be and so it has taken a couple of goes to get a location, which I hope is reasonably accurate. To try and offset any problems that may cause the enthusiastic searcher the hint should provide a clear steer, should you choose to use it.
During our walks through these woods, often at dusk, we have seen muntjac, badgers, squirrels, foxes and all sorts of birds. I hope you enjoy them too.
The nearest parking is on St Leonard's Road. Be aware that Stubbs Wood (where the nearby Stubbs Walk cache is located) is a private road and cannot be used for parking. Whichever direction you choose to approach from you will have a pleasant walk through woods and/or fields before you get to the cache.
