Welcome to the Cryptex Sampler series. I decided to compile all of my different cryptex hide styles into a concentrated area.
You must sign the log to claim a find. Bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log.
You can either walk or ride a bike on top of the levee to this cache. The road has a thin layer of loose gravel on it so a bike ride is not smooth.
Please be aware:
-
All Cryptex Sampler geocaches are placed on the side of a levee amongst unstable rocks. Be careful when making your way to the cache.
-
The containers are hidden underneath different sized rocks so be careful not to roll the rock onto fingers, toes, or electronic equipment.
-
I do not recommend searching when the rocks are wet. The rocks would be slippery and the etching darkens which makes it very difficult to see.
- It is best to see the rock with the cache by looking uphill.
At the posted coordinates you should find a rock with a mostly completed limerick and geocaching "G" etched on it. Under this rock is a cryptex. Figure out the last "word" of the limerick for the opening code of the cryptex (which pulls apart from the ends).
If you happen to lose the cap to the nano or a log, because it can happen, there is a Cryptex Sampler First Aid Station 10 feet north of GC8VKDA (Cryptex Sampler: When a HOXOJ equals an EGXOJ). Find the labeled rock, look under, and take a replacement to repair on your way back. Please post in your log if you needed to replace any part so that I can keep track of making more replacements available.
Please do not post spoiler photos showing the last 2 lines of the limerick, or photos showing the solution on the cryptex (photos will be deleted without warning), or transcribe the limerick in your log (log will be deleted with a warning).
